Firsts
I’m getting as many tally firsts in as I can before the semester ends. In the past two weeks I have gone to Food Truck Thursday, tried Filipino food, got Krishna lunch, tried boba at What? Cafe, and went to Luna’s Pizza. What next? It’s funny how I am always sad to leave Tallahassee at the end of each school year, though I’m also ready to go home for a bit. It really is...

brendonbrandon: magnoliazolia: our world is kind of awful  No. Our world is great. For every one person that plants a bomb, you have hundreds more running a marathon. For every one person that makes a joke about the dead and dying, you have thousands more donating blood, offering prayers, and volunteering their time. Things like this are the fault of single individuals who make violent, loud...

Shouts that bring shivers Make my arms shake Hearing through speakers: Impassioned joy turns to Hurt You sounded so happy- What you have to look forward to- You deserve more. When will it end? Don’t be controlled. You are Grand, beautiful, Full of potential Don’t doubt yourself You deserve to be happy.

All in a day's work
As many of you may know, I work in the housing department at my university. As many high school students are currently on their spring break, we had some stragglers come into the office today. There was a boy and his mother who came in twenty minutes til close in an absolute panic. This was due to someone in financial services telling them they had to sign up for housing today. I set them up on...

Can't stop thinking about food...
So, I am taking this fabulous class entitled Ethics & Food. It’s just wonderful. We talk about things such as “what is a meal?” and “food as tradition, cultural identity, memory, and love.” The first segment is about food and religion so we are reading a book called Miriam’s Kitchen about a non-practicing Jewish woman who goes back to her traditional roots...

Violence increases violence.
As most as you have noticed, everyone has been talking about America’s gun laws. You’ve probably heard people in your workplace talking about how “criminals don’t follow laws” and “if the principal had a gun, he could have stopped the whole thing” etc. You’ve probably even seen countless facebook posts, especially from those who rabidly oppose Obama....

Holidays
1. I stayed up late last night burning the holiday cd of holiday cds. If you want a copy, let me know. Or if you wanna know the playlist. It rules. 2. I have been working on building a winter wonderland for the kids who live at the shelter where I volunteer. We worked on it for five hours today. We built a sleigh out of styrofoam. And three adorable reindeer. I can’t wait. 3. I found out...

Dream
I dreamed that I was at my dad and his girlfriend’s new house. They have a screened in patio. A cute and small grey animal snuck in and started rubbing up against my leg. I thought it was a kitten, but it ended up being an armadillo! It would roll around. And it was super friendly and well adjusted to humans. My dad started calling around to find a place that would take them. He found a...

Tonight
Was just so good. Bonfire, which included s’mores and sangria. Then, a holiday party at a friend of mine’s. Peppermint paddy shots? Yes. An African American gay man taught me how to wobble. YES. I dropped it low. I laughed. I made new friends. I am dead tired. Night a success. Happy to have such a wonderful roommate.

Rambly Zenified Monday
Today was especially great. I had class all day. But in between classes the weather was so great! I spent an hour outside sipping on some hot green tea. It was lovely. I even didn’t fall asleep in social psych! I went to a super intense yoga class with Jill. And then we went to what? cafe where I got hot chocolate & banana bread (which there is more of for breakfast). And so, today was...
